Teaching resources

Pioneer State High School is committed to high quality teaching practices based on the latest educational research. Our school has a clear pedagogical framework based on the work of Dr Robert Marzano and incoprorating a strong focus on Explicit Instruction. This framework is reflected in our school's planning, teaching and evaluation processes and is outlined in our Whole School Pedagogical Framework (PDF, 2.8 MB). This link provides access to a revised version published in July 2013.

All units of work are developed using the school's common planning template:

Cross-curricular teams have developed a range of resources in relation to priority areas from our school's Strategic Directions. These resources include guides to whole-school approaches to literacy and numeracy enhancement, data analysis and differentiation. The cross-curricular teams have also created developmental ladders that guide teacher development in each of the priority areas:

Developmental Ladders:

Pioneer is committed to improving the educational outcomes of Indigenous students and embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within the curriculum. In addition to the school's Closing the Gap Developmental Ladder, teachers are guided by Education Queensland's Embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives in Schools (EATSIPS) policy (PDF, 3.7 MB).

Pioneer is committed to international mindedness and embedding global perspectives within the curriculum. Teachers are guided by the Australian Government's Global Perspectives framework (PDF, 3.0 MB) and Asia Education Foundation's National Statement on Asia Literacy (PDF, 299 KB).
