Each year, Pioneer State High School’s Parents' and Citizens' Association offers six scholarships to outstanding Year 6 students. Students must attend a state primary school and intend on enrolling at Pioneer in Year 7.
Each year, the following scholarships are presented:
two academic scholarships
two cultural scholarships
two sporting scholarships.
Scholarship applications close in the middle of Term 3 each year and are announced late in Term 3. Successful recipients are presented with their scholarships at Pioneer's annual Awards Night in Term 4 prior to entering Year 7 the following year.
Application forms for each category for 2024 are now available. Further information for 2024 scholarships will be available in Semester 2.
Forms can also be collected from our school office or from our partner primary schools. The principal will visit local state schools in Semester 2 to provide further information to prospective students.
Scholarship recipients have their name added to our honour board and have $200 credit per year to the students account for three years to offset students fees. They receive free field excursions in the Mackay area in Years 7, 8 and 9 and free entry into national academic competitions. They also receive a one-off contribution of $200 for school uniforms in Year 7
