Our innovative Learning Excellence at Pioneer (LEAP) program provides outstanding academic enrichment and extension opportunities for students at Pioneer. The program is offered in partnership with CQUniversity.
LEAP provides a focussed and high-performance, learning environment for our most able and committed students. The program develops students' higher order thinking skills and exposes them to a wide range of enrichment opportunities.
The program is being offered to Year 7 students in 2016. As LEAP students continue through their subsequent years of schooling, they will continue to be involved in a range of enrichment and extension opportunities.
Year 7 LEAP students will be in all elective courses together, helping to build a strong group identity and to facilitate greater opportunities for extension and collaboration across all subjects. In addition to their regular studies, students have timetabled lessons every week to work on focussed enrichment and extension projects. Each term, students' projects are linked to a different discipline area at CQUniversity. The program exposes students to the university setting and establishes an ongoing partnership between students and CQUniversity that continues through their secondary schooling.
Further information about the LEAP program is provided in our LEAP brochure (PDF, 1.9 MB). To learn more about our exciting LEAP program, please contact  LEAP Coordinator Mr Matt Grieger.
