Year 11 and 12 students will receive a personalised Assessment Calendar to reflect their particular subject selections.Assessment will involve a balance of written and oral or performance-based tasks. There is also a balance between tasks completed under assignment and examination conditions. The balance of different assessment modes is dependent on the nature of different subjects undertaken by the student.
In Years 7 to 10, assessment will often coincide with the culmination of units of work. As the Australian Curriculum is progressively introduced over the coming years, most subjects will move from term-long units of work to two five-week units per term. It is important to note, however, that many assessment tasks will be ongoing throughout a unit of work.In Years 11 and 12, students will participate in examination blocks each term. During these examination blocks, students are able to participate in independent study and attend school only for scheduled examinations or assessment tasks. Examination blocks are indicated on the school calendar. Assignment-based assessment may also be due towards the end of each unit or may be ongoing throughout a unit of work.
