The Arts and Community Partnerships Department at Pioneer State High School is an active and vibrant part of the school community. As an avenue of creativity and self-expression, the arts offer students the opportunity to acquire new skills including academic competencies and interpersonal skills. Through involvement in the artistic process, students at Pioneer are provided with new ways of experiencing and understanding the world around them.
Pioneer offers arts activities for all year levels from Year 7 through to Year 12. Students may participate in the arts through both the academic programs and the thriving co-curricular program. Students will be exposed to all or a combination of the following classroom subjects:
Dance
Drama
Film, Television and New Media
Music
Visual Art
Further information about The Arts subjects and our wide range of extra-curricular programs can be found in The Arts Centre of Excellence section of the website.
The Arts and Community Partnerships Department also oversees Pioneer's outreach programs involving partner primary schools. Our Pioneer Putreach Program (POP) helps connect students and teachers at local primary schools with the arts and with Pioneer.
