​Senior Leadership Team

Pioneer State High School is led by the Senior Leadership Team which comprises the Principal, two Deputy Principals and the Business Services Manager. The Senior Leadership Team oversees the strategic direction of the school and each member of the team oversees a number of departments or areas of the school's operations within their portfolio.

Executive Team

The Executive Team includes members of the Senior Leadership Team as well as all of Pioneer's Heads of Department and our Guidance Officer. The Executive Team meets every 2nd Monday afternoon and works to ensure that the school's vision and strategic plans are operationalised. The Executive Team is an important decision-making body about day-to-day operations and school policy. The Executive Team is an important part of communication channels within the school and Heads of Department share key information and deliberations from  Executive Team meetings with staff in their faculties.

Heads of Department

Pioneer's eight Heads of Department are responsible for curriculum development, staff development and leadership of teaching and learning in their department. In a number of departments, Heads of Department are supported by Subject Area Coordinators.

  • Mr Matthew Grieger (Health and Physical Education / Student Engagement)
  • Ms Jacqueline Newman (Teaching & Learning)

A range of forums are used to share information and seek broader input into the school's strategic direction and policies:

  • Parents' and Citizens' Association
  • Student Council
  • Student Leaders
  • Additional feedback and consultation through quadrennial review processes.
